What inspired you to start your work?
The inspiration behind La Belle Soap Co was basically my drive to be creative and to find a way to indulge, without the harmful chemicals on my sensitive eczema skin. I have been the Lady Boss of La Belle Soap Co for five years now and it has been the cleanest years of my life!
Describe your creative space, where you bring to life your work?
La Belle HQ is organized dysfunction, with colours and glitter everywhere! It is the most beautiful room in the house to me. It is where all of my creativity can blossom and I can sing without anyone hearing me!
What do you love most about your handmade business?
I love that my business is everything, and the products I create are my legacy. I love when people recognize the soaps and the business, and when they express how much they love it! That it the reason why I love my business.
What are you most looking forward to about being at the Auckland Fair?
As this is the last Auckland Fair, I am just looking forward to once again being a part of something that is so focused on the handmade world, and of course like always unveiling our new limited edition soaps and maybe a few bath bombs!
What has been your biggest triumph to date?
Our biggest personal triumph to date would be having the public recognize the brand and the soaps and stating how much they love the products, and the biggest triumph for the business would have to be taking part in the Frankie ‘Good Stuff’ awards this year! Although we did not place this year, it was still an amazing experience to be judged by the craft worlds leaders and being our soaps being featured in the Extra Curricular magazine late last year!
