What inspired you to start your work?
I stumbled across a jewelers course when I was looking at getting back into graphic design… and have never looked back!
Describe your creative space, where you bring to life your work?
I work from a home based studio in Auckland. The space is flooded with light… and a crazy explosion of metal, findings and tools. I love the space being clean and tidy, but I’ve resigned myself to realizing it’s just not how I work!
What do you love most about your handmade business?
I’m proud of what I’ve achieved over the last 3 years of business. I love being my own boss, and seeing customers respond positively to my work, is more rewarding than anything else! Plus, I’m like, 5 meters away from my coffee machine at all times when I’m working – which is a big bonus!
What are you most looking forward to about being at the Auckland Fair?
The Fair is a great opportunity to see familiar faces of makers that share the same passion to create, as well as meeting and connecting with customers new and old. I always love the vibe, and enjoy creating new pieces and displays for each show.
What has been your biggest triumph to date?
I’ve really enjoyed every aspect of growing my business (with the exception of invoicing, to be honest) … Highlights so far would be getting into the Australian market, upgrading to a fully Ecommerce site, and seeing my brand in over 25 retailers in NZ and OZ.
