What inspired you to start your work?
Following a year of travel, we felt inspired to create a brand that we could channel our passion for healthy living into. We decided to create delicious, all natural nut and seed butters made from really premium ingredients that could replace other sugary options on the market, loaded with preservatives and additives.
Describe your creative space, where you bring to life your work?
We live on the Hibiscus Coast, where there are beautiful beaches and some excellent running tracks. While it’s easy to get buried in the admin side of running a new business, our surroundings and daily outdoor excursions give us focus and help us develop new ideas. We are also reminded of the adventure-driven lifestyle we wish to lead and promote to our community.
What do you love most about your handmade business?
We love driving the company’s direction. This includes selecting which retailers we’d like to stock in, which events we’d want to attend and the key messages we wish to convey to our customers. It’s also pretty sweet having an endless supply of nut butters for daily snacking!
What are you most looking forward to about being at the Auckland Fair?
It’s always a treat to see someone try our Salted Macadamia for the first time. We also like hearing about people’s plans for the weekend featuring their new jar of nut butter…one example from last week described inviting friends over for banana pancakes topped with Forty Thieves Cacao Hazelnut…YUM
What has been your biggest triumph to date?
Our Salted Macadamia with Maple and Vanilla Bean won the Farro Fresh “Best of 2016 – people’s choice award” after being stocked for less than 2 months.
