What inspired you to start your work?

I have always been inspired by patterns and prints. I love playing with how different patterns and textures can work together. However the motivation to make and develop artwork in this way has been inspired by my wonderful friends. I started by creating them as gifts for them when I was financially tight but still wanting to share my gratitude in some way. The joy it gave me and others was a happy surprise that has been flowing since then. The business has morphed out of this since August 2016.

Describe your creative space, where you bring to life your work?

Since we are still new and finding our feet, the creative space is really anywhere and everywhere. Most of the work is created on the dining table with sometimes extending in to the lounge and bedroom. :p and occasionally in cafe’s when on the move. But the dream is definitely to one day have our own studio space where we can create and show our products.

What do you love most about your handmade business?

I love that it is a place where I get to express many aspects of my creative self. I love how I have stumbled on joy and purpose in the process of creating the artworks and the business. I love how we get to share inspiration and joy with others. I love how it challenges me and pushes me to be more brave, authentic and honest. I love how much we have learnt and continue to learn. I love seeing the joy in peoples faces when they interact with the art work. I love the support we have around us. I love what we stand for, which is to love creativity and inspire people to follow their own creative curiosities.

What are you most looking forward to about being at the Auckland Fair?

Sharing our work, interacting with more people and witnessing how they interact with our work is always an exciting aspect of markets. But for this fair the excitement is double as we are challenging our selves by refining our products more, creating new ones and exploring display and styling for our largest market space yet! Another growth spurt for us!

What has been your biggest triumph to date?

The most recent triumph has been for the Curiously Creative podcast. Getting it on iTunes and receiving a very heartfelt email on how inspiring and reassuring the latest episode was for a listeners journey. When a lot of the time you feel you are just taking a stab in the dark, this email really inspired and got all the feels going for us.
