What inspired you to start your work?

I’ve had a long term love affair with clay stemming from my background in archaeology. I have had my hands in mud for a very long time now. 14 years playing with clay, 4 of those years as a full time business. I’m always having fun and pushing boundaries with my work.

What do you love most about your handmade business?

I enjoy being my own girl boss. Its so great to know that over the last few years I have built a very successful business out of something that I am very passionate about. Also being able to pass on the knowledge to other small business owners. There is so much to learn, and I am still learning! Also the community of makers is phenomenal. I have made some amazing friends from this network of awesome people.

What are you most looking forward to about being at the Auckland Fair?

This will be my 3rd year being apart of the Fair. It always promises and delivers a great experience for all. I thoroughly enjoy being apart of it. But more importantly seeing so many turn up to support handmade. This is the best part of all!!!

What has been your biggest triumph to date?

Knowing that people are enjoying something they have bought from me. Biggest compliment and triumph.
