Giving back this Auckland Fair
As an event, we have been kicking around for a while now, and I love nothing more than to help out those in need, especially at Christmas. This Auckland Fair we will be working together with two charities that are close to my heart, to help them at this busy time of year.
Gift Wrapping Donations for The Lonely Miaow
Once you have done all your Christmas shopping at the Fair, pop by the Lonely Miaow table to have your items gift wrapped in return for a donation per item. You can donate as much as you would like, and every penny helps. Lonely Miaow work across Auckland relentlessly, rescuing cats and kittens, giving them foster homes and medical attention before finding their forever homes. They work so hard, and this way you can have your pressies wrapped and help them with their vital work. The Auckland Fair will be providing all the wrapping paper and ribbons on the day, so please, give generously.
Women’s Refuge Christmas Tree
Christmas is a stressful time of year, when relationships are at their most strained and it’s often when things can fall apart easily. It can be a time of crisis for women and families, and when they need a safe place to turn to, they seek help from Women’s Refuge centres. We wanted to do something to give back, and help those that might have had to leave without notice, and give something special to their holiday season.
When you are shopping at the Fair on the day, grab a few extra treats and bring them to the Women’s Refuge Christmas Tree (next to the gift wrapping station in the foyer), we will wrap them up for you and sort them into womens, girls and boys boxes. After the Fair, we will deliver these straight to the centres so they can be handed out to families this Christmas.
