The Auckland Fair is held within historical Shed 10, Queens Wharf, right in the heart of the CBD and alongside the beautiful Waitemata Harbour, which Auckland is so famous for. Being in such a central location means that delicious food and amenities such as parking, ferry, bus and train terminals are right on our doorstep.

 

We are an all weather event and will be happening come rain or shine!

ENTRY FEE

Entry fee is $6 at the door, we accept cash and Eftpos payments (sorry, no credit cards).

 

In addition to access to our premium event, for your entry fee, you will receive an A3, full colour map of the event with all Maker details (while stocks last), you will also be able to participate in one of the free interactive activities such as the kids art station, colouring in or photo-booth with complimentary print outs.

 

Once you have paid your entry, you will be given a ticket which gives you the ability to come and go from the venue. Should you leave, you will need to queue again, but you will not have to pay a second time.

CASH OUT FACILITIES

The Auckland Fair will have cash out facilities available on the day. This is for New Zealand Eftpos only cards (sorry, no credit cards) and has a transaction charge of $3 per withdrawal, this service is not associated with the Auckland Fair and provided by Red Badge.

 

There may be a short wait to withdraw money, so it pays to plan ahead and perhaps get cash out on the way to the venue.

 

In previous years, we have had specially designed ‘market money’, due to the size of the event now, this is no longer on offer. ‘Cash out’ will be actual cash, so perfect if you need to take out a little extra for food or parking.

ENTRY WAIT TIMES

The Auckland Fair is a hugely popular and busy event with lots of people, just like you, that want to support handmade and join in on the action. There may be a queue forming to get into the event before we open and often while the event is on. We appreciate your patience if this is the case and please allow for this when planning your day.

 

Wait times at the events peak can vary, and during quieter times, just 5-10 minutes. The busiest time is from 10.30am to 1pm, the event is less congested from 3pm to 5pm. However, this can change due to the Auckland Fair’s increasing popularity.

 

Visitor safety comes first, no exceptions. If the event is very busy, we will often hold further entries until some people have left and will allow more to come in, however, the line is always moving and doesn’t take too long at all.

 

If there is a bit of a wait or if the inside is congested, we ask that you are patient and understanding.

FOOD & DRINK

We have food, coffee and treats available on the day for you to purchase from a selection of specially chosen and delicious vendors such as Mojo Coffee and more.

 

The Auckland Fair is a handmade market and we cater more to light snacks. There is cafe style seating within the venue for you to relax and enjoy your snack between shopping along with a kids colouring in and games space.

 

If you are after a substantial lunch, rather than a snack, we encourage you to eat before you come to the Fair. Please, keep food and drink in the designated areas to protect the handmade items.

VENUE ACCESS

The venue is wheelchair friendly with ramps available at the front entrance. The event is held on a single level and there are no stairs to navigate to get around the Makers.

 

We absolutely encourage families to visit, but please note that it can get quite busy inside and pushing a pram can sometimes be a little slower to get around and can often make the already busy event, a little worse. We ask that there are no prams taken within the main market hall at peak times.

 

There is allocated pram-parking on the first floor next to the kids art area that we will ask families to use, please ask at the info desk if you can’t locate it.

TOILETS & FACILITIES

There are plenty toilets and baby changing facilities for visitors to use within the venue itself at both ends of Shed 10.

DOGS

Sorry, no dogs are permitted within the venue. We only make exceptions to guide and/or aid dogs.

PARKING & TRANSPORT

The best place to park on the day of the Fair is the Britomart carpark or the Downtown carpark. We are right next door to the Ferry Terminal, The Cloud and are across the road from Britomart Train & Bus stations. Perfect for grabbing a ferry from Devonport, East Auckland or Waiheke.
